Getting Started

What is GitToHire?

GitToHire is an AI-powered resume generator for developers. We analyze your Git profile (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket) and create tailored, ATS-optimized resumes for specific job descriptions - all in under a minute.

How does it work?

  1. Sign up with GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket - We securely connect to your profile (one-time setup)
  2. Paste a job description - URL or text, our AI extracts key requirements
  3. Generate your resume - AI matches your experience to the role
  4. Download and apply - Edit if needed, then download as PDF or DOCX

Which Git platforms do you support?

We support GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket. You can connect multiple platforms for a comprehensive developer profile.

Do you access my private repositories?

No. By default, we only access your public repositories and profile information. You can optionally grant access to private repos if you want them included in your resume analysis.

Resume Generation

How accurate are the generated resumes?

Our AI pulls real data from your Git profile - actual technologies you've used, real contribution metrics, and genuine project descriptions. The AI then translates this into professional resume language. Always review and verify the content before submitting applications.

Can I edit the generated resume?

Yes! You can:

  • Download as DOCX and edit in Word/Google Docs
  • Download as PDF for the final version

What is the ATS score?

ATS (Applicant Tracking System) score indicates how well your resume matches the job description's keywords and requirements. Most large companies use ATS to filter applicants. We aim for 90%+ match scores on every generation to maximize your chances of getting through automated screening.

Can I upload my existing resume?

Yes. You can upload an existing resume (PDF or DOCX), and we'll combine that information with your Git profile to create an enhanced, tailored version. This is great for including non-Git experience.

What makes GitToHire different from other resume builders?

  • Git-native: We analyze your actual code contributions, not just what you type
  • Job-specific: Each resume is tailored to the specific role, not generic
  • AI-powered: Advanced AI understands both technical and business language
  • ATS-optimized: Built specifically to pass automated screening systems

Privacy & Security

Is my data secure?

Yes. We implement enterprise-grade security:

  • TLS encryption for all data in transit
  • AES-256 encryption for data at rest
  • OAuth authentication (we never see your Git password)
  • SOC 2 compliant infrastructure (AWS)
  • Regular security audits

Do you share my data?

We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with essential service providers (Stripe for payments, AWS for hosting, OpenAI for AI processing). See our Privacy Policy for details.
